Ever heard of egg balls, dribble cakes and flame cakes? Or maybe you know slemp, jack-in-the-bag or nonnevotten? They are all traditional Dutch regional dishes. We collected the best recipes from the past, from all over the Netherlands.
All old dishes, but always with a fresh perspective or a new preparation method. We go from the Wadden Sea coast with its dried dabs and fish soup via Groningen poffert and Frisian dúmkes to Drenthe knuckles and Urk kapkool. Then we travel through the center of our country to Veluwe milk purée, colostrum with rusk and bacon with pears from the Hoekse Waard. Finally, we travel to our southern provinces with generously topped Zeeland pizzas, Brabant aniseed rolls and Limburg zoervleisj.
