Jo Spier. Reminder
Brilliant mind with great expressiveness. Cartoonist Peter van Straaten was a great admirer and even admitted to having stolen his writing font. From Jo Spier he also learned to touch the reader with light lines, surprising observations and mild humor. The Zutphen resident was the master of the minimal, who cleverly held up a mirror to the Netherlands.
In Jo Spier. In Remembrance 1900-1978, EW editor Gerry van der List sketches the life and work of the talented draftsman. Naturally, this biography is richly illustrated with beautiful drawings.
