Contents of this online training on resilience

Welcome

After a short introduction, you will discover how to get the most out of the training and you will meet the experts of this training: psychologist-psychotherapist Carien Karsten, psychologist Thijs Launspach and professor Madelon Peters.

What is resilience?

In this session, psychologist Carien Karsten explains what resilience is and how you can increase it. You will also discover how you are used to reacting to setbacks – and how things can be done differently.

Stress management

Setbacks are accompanied by stress, and stress makes us more sensitive to setbacks. How do you break that vicious circle? When do you have too much stress, and how can you avoid that from now on? Psychologist Thijs Launspach explains it to you.

Control and acceptance

In this session you will learn how to look at life with a different, more accepting mindset. This way, unexpected events are less likely to hit you and you will be able to stand your ground better.

Positive self-image

How you think about yourself influences your resilience. How can you trust your own qualities and continue to think positively about yourself in difficult times? You will learn that in this session.

Curiosity and creativity

In this session you will learn to look at yourself and situations from curiosity and creativity. This creates a new perspective from which you can come up with ideas and solutions.

Connectedness

Discover how important a good social network is, learn how to ask this network for help when needed and learn to accept this help.

Optimism

Everyone has moments when it is difficult to keep their spirits up. In this session, Professor Madelon Peters explains how you can trust yourself and your ability to get back on track under difficult circumstances.

Your personal plan

In this final session you will draw up your own personal plan, so that you can continue to practice with the tools that contribute to your resilience even after the training.
