Contents of this online training
What is mindfulness?
In this session you will discover what mindfulness means and meet psychiatrist Edel Maex, the expert in this training. With a scientific test you investigate how mindful you are already in life.
Out of your head
You learn that your thoughts and associated feelings largely determine how you experience reality. You will also start with a diary in which you keep track of pleasant events. You practice with the body scan.
Meditation does not mean stopping thinking, but looking at your thoughts with an open mind. During this session you will be introduced to a form of meditation in which you focus your attention on one thing.
In this session you apply the mindfulness method to feelings of sadness, disappointment or regret. This time you keep track of unpleasant events in your diary.
Mindfulness invites you to explore another possibility. To discover that with attention you can give a different response to the unpleasant things in your life.
Thoughts and facts
During this session you will investigate how often certain negative thoughts occur to you. You investigate whether you can create a new perspective: how could you also look at it?
Self-compassion
A mindful attitude is a friendly attitude, towards others and towards yourself. How do you take good care of yourself? You map your energy givers and energy takers.
